We recommend leaving San Vito early in the morning, around 5:00am.
The route from San Vito to La Lucha, Sabalito es 25 kilometers long. The highway is paved and suitable for all types of vehicles. Once we arrive in the La Lucha community, we will take the path to Progreso where we will leave the vehicle.
We will start at 1200 meters above sea level until we reach a height of 2000 meters in Las Tablas. On the way we will enjoy abundant vegetation in the cloud forest with beautiful panoramic views and great biodiversity in the flora and fauna.
The path is wide with a medium difficulty, suitable for people that are used to long walks. It is around a 12-hour trip, 25 kilometers round trip. It is accessible by the Tablas AyA aqueduct that provides drinking water to the majority of the communities in Coto Brus. The aqueduct forms part of Coto Brus’ and Buenos Aires’ municipalities Water Path initiative.
